For six years, I had a comically excessive morning routine. Lemon water, breath work, meditation, cold shower, journaling, yoga, foam rolling my glutes.
By the time I opened my laptop it was 11am, sometimes noon. I’d spent the whole morning preparing to work instead of working.
About 10 years ago, I quit all of it.
So you may be wondering...did I burn out? Did I go crawling back to the cold showers and journaling after a few years? Or did dropping the routine make me more productive than ever?
I finally recorded the updated answer, plus what the neuroscience says you should actually do with your mornings.

Very interesting and certainly worth giving it a try. But it sounds like it would work better for those that are self employed or otherwise get to set their own schedules on when they work. But what about those that have a set work schedule by their employer? Say from 8 am to 4:30 pm. They don’t have a choice as to when to start or finish work. How would this apply for someone without out the freedom to decide when to start and stop work? Good video by the way. Always love your content. Just wondering how to apply it with different employment situations .
Made the same experience. Cut meditation, water and yoga down to getting dressed and unlocking my laptop
